Quick answer: EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2027 runs from Monday 26 July to Sunday 1 August 2027 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. EAA says tickets usually go on sale in early December. The 2026 show drew about 734,000 visitors from 98 countries and more than 10,000 aircraft, so book accommodation or camping early.
Every July, a small city in Wisconsin hosts the biggest week in general aviation. EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, run by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), is part airshow, part fly-in, part trade show and part reunion. This guide brings together everything you need to plan a visit for 2027: dates, tickets, where to stay, what to see, and how to fly in yourself.
It is part of our wider Air Shows 2027 guide, which covers the main UK and worldwide shows. If you are planning a US airshow summer, see also our best US airshows guide and the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds schedule.

AirVenture 2027 dates
EAA has confirmed that AirVenture 2027 will take place from 26 July to 1 August 2027 (EAA AirVenture). The detailed daily schedule, air show line-up and theme days are normally announced in the months before the show, so treat any line-up you see this early as unconfirmed. We will update this guide as EAA releases details.

Tickets and admission
Tickets are sold through the EAA AirVenture tickets page. Daily and weekly passes are available, and EAA members get lower prices. Admission for young people aged 18 and under has been free in recent years, including in 2026, but check the 2027 terms when tickets go on sale. Prices for 2027 had not been published when we checked, so we have not quoted them here.
A few things worth knowing:
- Buy online in advance to avoid queues at the gate.
- Consider EAA membership if you plan to camp in Camp Scholler, where a member must be part of the camping party.
- Read the prohibited items list in the EAA FAQ. Pets are not allowed on the grounds, except service animals, and you cannot bring your own alcohol.
Where to stay
Accommodation is the hardest part of planning Oshkosh. Hotels across the region fill up months ahead and prices rise as the show approaches.
- Camp Scholler: EAA’s huge campsite next to the show grounds. Basic camping has a three-night minimum, and at least one camper must be an EAA member. See Camp Scholler for current rules.
- Fly-in camping: if you fly in, you can camp under your wing in the aircraft camping areas.
- Hotels and rooms: look at towns within driving distance, such as Appleton and Fond du Lac, and book as soon as you know your dates. Local universities and homeowners also offer rooms during the show.
What to see
AirVenture is too big to see in a day. Plan a rough route each morning using the official EAA app or map.
The daily air show
Most afternoons feature an air show with aerobatic performers, warbirds, military demonstrations and formation teams. Selected evenings have night air shows with lights and fireworks. Check the 2027 schedule closer to the time.
The showplanes
The homebuilt, vintage and warbird areas are the heart of Oshkosh. You can walk among hundreds of aircraft and talk to the people who built or restored them. Pilots are usually happy to chat, as long as you do not touch the aircraft.
Boeing Plaza
The main display area at the centre of the show is where the headline aircraft usually park, from airliners and military aircraft to rare historic types.
Forums and workshops
With more than 1,600 sessions across the week in 2026, the forums are one of the best-kept secrets of Oshkosh. Topics range from homebuilding skills to safety, ownership and careers. If you are thinking about learning to fly, it is a great place to talk to schools and manufacturers; read our guide on how to become a private pilot before you go.
Flying in to Oshkosh
Flying your own aircraft in is a rite of passage for many pilots. Wittman becomes one of the busiest airports in the world during the show, and arrivals follow a special procedure published by the FAA in an AirVenture NOTAM each year. Read the whole NOTAM, practise the procedures, and have a plan B airport. EAA’s AirVenture site links to the current NOTAM, arrival guidance and parking updates under its “Flying In” section.
If you are not yet confident with busy radio work, our guide to aircraft radios and air traffic control covers the basics.
Tips for first-timers
- Wear comfortable shoes. The grounds are huge and you will walk a long way.
- Pack for heat and storms. Wisconsin in late July can be hot and humid, with thunderstorms.
- Protect your hearing. Bring ear defenders, especially for children.
- Carry water and sun cream. Shade is limited on the flight line.
- Use the trams and buses. They save a lot of walking between areas.
- Arrive early. The showplane areas are quietest first thing in the morning.
- Stay for the departures. The last days of the show bring a steady stream of departing aircraft.
