Overview
STG Aerospace designs, manufactures and certifies emergency exit marking and cabin lighting systems for aircraft. Its listed address is Brecon House on William Brown Close in Cwmbran, South Wales. The company is now part of Heads Up Technologies, which also owns ALTO Aviation.
STG was founded in 1995, after an incident in Manchester showed the need for better escape lighting on aircraft. It invented the first photoluminescent emergency exit system for aircraft, saf-Tglo, which is still the core of its business. Boeing and Embraer began fitting it in 2000.
The product range includes saf-Tglo photoluminescent floor path marking and signage, the liTeMood LED cabin lighting system for Boeing and Airbus aircraft, and informational and custom signage. Customers include aircraft manufacturers and airlines around the world.
STG holds EASA Part 21 Subpart J design approval (EASA 21J.727) and UK CAA Part 21 Subpart G production approval (UK.21G.2540), along with AS9100, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification. The wider group adds cabin management, switches and audio for business aviation.
Airlines planning a cabin refit can work with the team from concept through to certification.
