Overview
Caerdav is an independent aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul organisation at St Athan in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. Its chairman and founder is Bruce Dickinson, an aviator and lead singer of Iron Maiden.
The company works from a former RAF maintenance base with a 6,000 ft ILS runway and parking for up to 20 narrow-body aircraft. Its modern hangar facility is called Twin Peaks, and its technicians and engineers are certified for base maintenance on the Boeing 737 and the Airbus A320 family.
The Part 145 facility holds approvals from the CAA, EASA, FAA, GACA (Saudi Arabia), TCCA (Canada) and the Guernsey 2-REG. Services include base maintenance, component changes, composite repair, interior refits and modifications, end-of-lease transitions and in-house NDT. Engine changes, tool hire, aircraft parking and storage and aviation consultancy are also offered.
Caerdav is converting the unused Hangar 64, next to Twin Peaks, into 4,300 sq ft of extra workshop space, with a mezzanine office, sanding and clean rooms and a paint spray booth.
