Overview
Somerset Microlights is a microlight flying school at a grass airfield near Taunton. Jim and Helen Greenshields founded it in 1985 and still run it.
The school teaches the NPPL with a microlight rating on flexwing types such as the Pegasus Quik and three-axis aircraft such as the Ikarus C42 and Thruster. Students finish their training with the General Skills Test (GST). Ground school, cross-country training, biennial flights and revalidations are also offered.
Trial flights and gift vouchers are available. The school has said it cannot take on new ab initio students at present because of a backlog, although revalidations are not affected.
