Overview
Light Flight is a microlight training and aircraft support business run by Andy Buchan at Westonzoyland Airfield, east of Bridgwater in Somerset. Andy is a BMAA instructor, senior inspector and CAA examiner. He has logged more than 10,000 hours on microlights and hang gliders since he started flying in 1978.
He instructs on both flexwing and three-axis microlights, from first lessons through to the licence. Gift flying lessons are flown in the school’s GT450 flexwing, with 30, 45 or 60-minute flights available. Routes can take in Glastonbury Tor or the Somerset coast, and prices are on the Flight Training page.
As a senior inspector, Andy also carries out aircraft inspections and can look after owners’ aircraft. Light Flight supplies equipment and ignition modules, and Andy can help with other aviation projects in the UK or abroad. Overseas, he helped set up Batoka Sky in Zambia, which flies visitors over Victoria Falls, and Fishtail Ultraflights in Nepal, and he has instructed in Trivandrum, India.
This is a one-person operation, so contact Andy directly on 07850 942096 to discuss training or aircraft work.
