Overview
Trig Avionics Limited designs avionics for general aviation from Heriot-Watt Research Park in Edinburgh. Its products are sold and fitted through a network of dealers, which pilots can find on the Trig website, and they hold a wide range of EASA and FAA approvals.
The range is built around Mode S transponders, all of which can transmit ADS-B. The latest model is the TT23 compact transponder. Trig also makes VHF radios, nav/com units with a CDI, audio panels, GPS receivers such as the TN70, TN70A and TN72, GPS antennas, and ADS-B bundles.
Most products come in two formats. ‘Stack’ units share the same slimline look and are designed to fit neatly together in a panel. ‘Compact’ units use a small control head that fits a standard 57 mm round hole or a compact cut-out, with the main box mounted elsewhere to save panel depth. Both have bright, clear displays and simple controls.
Trig calls its approach ‘Better by Design’, meaning products that are easy to use and include features pilots will actually use. Recent news on its website features Shark Aero aircraft flying with Trig equipment.
The company exhibits at shows such as AERO Friedrichshafen and EAA AirVenture, and it posts news and job vacancies on its website. The office number is +44 131 449 8810.
