Overview
The Ulster Aviation Society looks after an aviation heritage collection in hangars at the Maze Long Kesh site (Gate 3) on Halftown Road near Lisburn, Northern Ireland. It is a volunteer-run charity and a Queen’s Award winner.
The collection includes fast jets such as the Phantom FG.1, Tornado GR.4 and Buccaneer, as well as helicopters, Second World War aircraft, Shorts aircraft, vintage types and home-builds. There are also historic vehicles, display rooms and a flight simulator and VR suite.
Public visits are by prior arrangement only, for families and for larger tour groups. Members receive a monthly magazine and can attend guest talks, and the society welcomes volunteers.
