Overview
Haffenden Aviation is a CAA-registered flight training business at Headcorn Aerodrome in Kent, an all-year grass airfield.
The chief flying instructor, John Haffenden, is a career instructor with a frozen ATPL, including a multi-engine instrument rating and Boeing 737 multi-crew training. The other instructors are similarly qualified. Students stay with the same instructor as far as possible, apart from progress checks.
Training uses aircraft such as the Cessna 152 and 172, Piper PA-28 Warrior and Robin DR400. It covers the PPL and NPPL, Night Qualification, IMC and Instrument Rating, with ground school. Trial lessons are available, and Headcorn’s other operators offer tailwheel, aerobatic and vintage flying.
