Overview
Aero Legends runs vintage flying experiences from Headcorn Aerodrome on Shenley Road in Kent, with a second base at North Weald Airfield in Essex. Both are genuine Second World War airfields.
The company operates three Supermarine Spitfires, including the two-seat Spitfire T9 MJ444 and the high-level fighter Spitfire HF9 TD314. Its wider fleet includes a North American T-6 Harvard, de Havilland Tiger Moths and a C-47 Dakota, and it describes this as the most diverse collection of its kind in the UK.
Experiences range from Tiger Moth and Harvard flights to flying in a Spitfire, formation Spitfire flights and flying alongside a Spitfire in another aircraft. There are also Dakota experiences and a WW2 experience at North Weald in the winter months.
Many of its pilots had RAF careers, including service with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and the Red Arrows. Routes are chosen to avoid restrictive airspace, and flights can pass landmarks such as the White Cliffs of Dover.
Flight vouchers can be bought as gifts and are emailed straight away.
