Overview
Tresco Heliport is the air gateway to Tresco in the Isles of Scilly. It serves the scheduled service operated by Penzance Helicopters, which flies direct to the island in a short hop from Cornwall, and it also offers landing facilities for private and charter helicopters by prior arrangement. The heliport is a grass strip 360 metres long and 45 metres wide, 6 metres above sea level, with a FATO designated 08/26. A barrier-controlled concrete road crosses the landing area. Published hours are 08:30 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday, from 1 March to 31 October, with winter hours published in the AIP, and additional hours can be arranged on request. There is no fuel at Tresco: Jet A1 is available at Penzance Heliport and Avgas at Land’s End Airport. All private and charter helicopter movements must be agreed in advance with the heliport manager, using the PPR form on the island’s website or by phone. Pilots transit the Land’s End Radio Mandatory Zone with St Mary’s ATC, make a courtesy call to Tresco Radio on the way in, and park on the north side of the airfield below the Abbey Garden. Arrivals that coincide with a scheduled flight may be asked to hold or re-route.From the heliport, onward transport can be arranged to accommodation, restaurants and the Abbey Garden, and boat transfers to the neighbouring islands can be booked through Tresco Boats.
