Overview

FlyElstree offers flight instruction, flight tests and aircraft rental at Elstree Aerodrome near Borehamwood in Hertfordshire. The club started at Elstree in 2009. It aims to offer a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where members receive professional instruction at a calm pace.

Training covers the PPL with ground school, the IMC rating (now IR(R)) and the Night Rating. The CFI is the club’s sole director and manager and has flown since 1980. He has instructed since 1999 and is a CAA flight examiner for the PPL and IMC. There are plenty of experienced instructors, allocated according to their availability.

Qualified pilots can hire aircraft such as the Piper Archer and Arrow, and trial flying lessons are available.
