Rubicon Aviation Ltd is a boutique advisory firm for private and business aviation, with a London office on Great Portland Street. It brings together technical, legal, financial and operational expertise so that aircraft owners have one point of contact throughout ownership, from purchase and financing through operation to sale.

The firm was founded in 2010 by Alexander Popivker. He worked in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and UBS in New York, Moscow and London during the 1990s and 2000s, and in 2006 set up a wealth advisory practice in which private aviation became a major area of client demand.

Rubicon’s services start with ownership structuring, recommending a legal set-up that keeps tax and operating costs down and meets the regulations. It reviews operating costs using its own reporting systems and benchmarks bills against industry prices, from monthly invoice checks to forensic investigations.

On the technical side, the firm manages an aircraft’s maintenance and airworthiness. That covers pre-purchase inspections, maintenance scheduling and supervision of major checks, with close cost control. It also arranges finance through banks, specialist aviation lenders and lessors, and has been arranging individual and group private jet charters, as well as air cargo charters, for nearly two decades.
