Clacton Aeroclub

Clacton Aero Club is a family-run flying school at Clacton Airfield on the Essex coast. It has trained pilots since 1988 and calls itself a tailwheel specialist.

Courses cover the PPL and NPPL, a tailwheel conversion course, differences training, cross-Channel checkouts and licence revalidations. Qualified members can hire aircraft at hourly rates. Trial lessons are flown in a Cessna 152 with a qualified instructor, and gift vouchers are available for pleasure flights and trial lessons.

The club’s sister company, Classic Wings, offers trial lessons in a Cessna 172, sightseeing flights and flights in vintage Second World War aircraft.
