Devon & Somerset Gliding Club

Devon & Somerset Gliding Club flies from North Hill Airfield near Sheldon, in the Blackdown Hills north of Honiton. It is the largest gliding club in the South West, and members have been gliding there for more than 60 years.

The club has a modern fleet of club gliders, good facilities and a team of instructors who train new members from their first flight onwards. Training continues as members progress to solo and cross-country flying, and a simulator supports ground training. Experienced glider pilots and powered pilots can also visit or join.

The club flies on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. First flights can be booked directly, and gift vouchers are available.
