Overview
CAS Aviation Services (Cornwall Aviation Services) maintains general aviation aircraft in the south-west of England. Its East Devon facility is at Dunkeswell Airfield, near Honiton, and the company has licensed aircraft engineers at both of its locations.
CAS is a UK CAA Part ML maintenance business and a Combined Airworthiness Organisation. It provides full continuing airworthiness management for G-registered aircraft under an approved or self-declared maintenance programme. Owners can choose managed contract maintenance or arrange individual jobs. Routine work includes 50-hour and six-monthly inspections, annual checks and defect investigation.
The team also works on American N-registered aircraft through FAA Airframe and Powerplant licence holders, and carries out annual permit renewal checks on LAA permit aircraft. Its senior engineer has been trained by CFS Aero on Rotax 9 series engines, and the company is qualified to maintain Rotax engines that are still under warranty.
If an owner cannot fly the aircraft in, CAS can arrange a ferry flight to collect it and return it once the work is done. The website’s FAQ gives rough running costs for a Piper or Cessna in the UK, including typical annual inspection and insurance figures.
Dunkeswell has two tarmac runways, the Aviator café and parachuting seven days a week. Owners are welcome to visit the hangar to discuss their aircraft, or can call +44 1404 642024.
