Overview
Cambridgeshire Flight Training is a microlight flying school at Chatteris Airfield in north Cambridgeshire, between Cambridge and Peterborough.
Lessons run all year on the Ikarus C42, a popular two-seat microlight. Students train for the NPPL with a microlight rating, with ground school and cross-country training included. The NPPL needs a minimum of 25 hours of tuition, including solo flying. Trial flights let newcomers take the controls with an instructor, and trial flight vouchers can be bought as gifts.
Alongside the school there is an active flying club. Members arrange informal fly-outs to other airfields and social events, so newly qualified pilots have people to fly with once they finish training.
