Heliflite Charter & Training

Heliflite Charter & Training is a helicopter training academy and charter operator based at Ardmore Airport in Auckland. Its modern facilities, which include a lecture room, operations area, briefing room, administration office, reception and hangar, have been assessed by the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand as suitable premises for an air transport and training operation.The academy trains helicopter pilots from trial flights through Private Pilot and Commercial Pilot licences to the Instructor Rating, and welcomes international students. Specialty courses include Robinson Safety Awareness Training, night and sling ratings, mountain flying, type ratings and foreign licence conversion. Training aircraft include the Robinson R22, Robinson R44 and Schweizer/Hughes 300 CBi.Heliflite operates, repairs, builds and maintains helicopters, describing itself as a one-stop shop for everything rotary. As a Part 145 maintenance provider, it lets students learn about the maintenance that keeps helicopters flying as well as how to fly them. As a busy Part 135 air operator, it also gives students real-world charter and commercial experience.Its sister company, Heliflite Ltd, is a long-standing CAA-approved Part 145 maintenance facility next door at 168 Kitty Hawk Lane. It is the Australasian distributor for Robinson, Kopter and XTI aircraft and the Australasian service centre for Leonardo. Charter flights include Auckland scenic flights, trips to places that cannot be reached by foot
