SUN ‘n FUN is Florida’s big spring fly-in and the unofficial start of the American air show season. Every April, thousands of light aircraft, homebuilts, warbirds and seaplanes fly into Lakeland Linder International Airport, turning it into one of the busiest airfields in the world for a week. The daily air shows run every afternoon, and there’s often a night show with lit aircraft and fireworks. Away from the flight line there are hundreds of exhibitors, forums and workshops for pilots and builders, plus a big campground where many visitors stay for the whole event. It’s a relaxed, family-friendly show and a good alternative to Oshkosh if you prefer warmer weather. The 2028 dates are published on the organiser’s site alongside the next few years, and performer line-ups usually follow in the months before the show.
