Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association

The Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association (CHAA) is a registered charity at Tillsonburg Regional Airport (CYTB), 244411 Airport Road, Tillsonburg, Ontario. It preserves and flies the North American Harvard, the trainer used by the Royal Canadian Air Force and the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan in the Second World War. The plan trained more than 130,000 Canadian and Allied aircrew.

The association was set up in 1985 by general aviation pilots Norm Beckham and Len Fallowfield and former RCAF pilot Bob Hewitt. They started with three Harvards and made a hangar at Tillsonburg their home base. CHAA is run entirely by volunteers with no government funding, and it celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2025. Its mission is to acquire, preserve, restore, maintain, display and fly the Harvard and other training aircraft from the period.

Visitors can book a flight in a Harvard, arrange a group tour, come to a special event, or just drop in on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Admission is always free. The aircraft also appear at air shows and fly-pasts and are available for photo shoots. Annual and lifetime memberships are available, and new volunteers are welcome.
